Hi there :D I'm going to keep this note short and simple: Hope you guys enjoy it, I enjoying writing, I'm terrified of my own ideas, and I REALLY hate cute things because they manipulate me too well.
Enjoy.

Paul began panicking. He furiously tried to stop the spread of the disease, with absolutely no success. He tried everything from rubbing alcohol, to shaving cream, to soap, and every concoction in between. The mass of colors began to coalesce with one another, forming large puddles of strange mixtures. Paul stopped trying and sat down, looking defeated. There was nothing that he could do besides stare at the abomination that had festered  on his leg. If he focused enough, he could actually see it moving, slowly spreading across his flesh, inching outwards, slowly but surely. Little tendrils of varying colors spread up his thigh, invading more of his body. The larger it grew, the more fatigued Paul felt.
For a second, Paul could've sworn that something was moving underneath the raised, pink skin. He pushed his briefs lower, and prodded the most swollen part of the infection. To his utter shock, disgust, wonder, and fear, it reacted. Upon being touched, it pulsated, just a fraction of a millimeter. The colors of the infection changed colors again, this time turning an annoyed shade of orange.
A fleeting wonder if colors could be annoyed went through his mind, before clearing his throat. "H-hello?" He greeted nothing in particular, expecting the growth to reply. He laughed at the stupidity of the situation.
Then something very strange happened.
The infection shifted colors, turning a somewhat friendly shade of cyan-brown.  Paul's stomach unleashed all of its contents. He couldn't believe what he just saw. No, no way. It was just an illusion. The infection had spread to cover all of his right leg, and was now a patchy collection of different shades of the same color. As if reading his thoughts, the infection shifted to a… teasing purple. Paul choked out, "C-can you, can you understand m-me?" The infection pulsated an approving golden color. Somehow, Paul felt slightly relieved.
He now had a grasp of what he was dealing with. A living, pulsating, parasitic, sentient THING that was growing on his leg.
On the other hand, he was dealing with something smart. The infection had now grown to encompass most of his lower body, and some of his spinal cord. By now, Paul was incredibly tired.
It may have been his imagination, or exhaustion, but he heard something. Something familiar.  Something from almost a decade ago.
"Paul? Are you there?" The infection turned worriedly blue.
Entry for Odyssey 2013. Nothing special.
